The St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Michael's is attempting to establish a new level of volunteering. We are developing a database of the parishioners who would be available to answer questions in their field of knowledge or to lend expertise in areas that our clients may have a need. Case workers on home visits often come across situations for which they do not know the answer to a particular question, or where to turn for resources to help those with a particular problem. This may involve a question regarding the law and our client's legal rights. It may pertain to a medical or pharmaceutical question, as well as home repair needs such as electrical, plumbing or carpentry. Mortgage questions or lease disputes are often areas of concern for our clients. Other areas of question are school testing, and child and family counseling. We would like to establish a resource database for virtually and all that might have an impact on the daily lives of the people SVdP helps. As a "new level volunteer" or a SVdP Consultant you would be contacted only by SVdP volunteers to answer questions or give information concerning your area of knowledge for the benefit of those we are helping. Please consider this as a way of giving your talents.
