Lector
LECTORS
Lectors play an integral part in the celebration of the Holy Mass
by proclaiming the Word of God in the First and Second Readings, the Announcements,
the Responsorial Psalm (when choir or cantor not present), the Prayer of the Faithful (when a Deacon is not present).
You must be Confirmed and a practicing Catholic to be a Lector.
Certification via a parish training program is required. Training sessions are held periodically during the year.
